The Barbosa K&K Volunteer Programme offers a hands-on opportunity to join our dedicated team in the heart of South Africa’s North West Province. Our mission is to ensure the survival of the world's most vulnerable predators through expert-led breeding and scientific conservation. As a volunteer, you become a vital contributor to the preservation of the cheetah’s majestic legacy.

Your Impact: Daily Roles & Responsibilities

Daily Animal Care

Work alongside our expert conservationists to provide essential care for our cheetahs. This includes preparing specialized diets, monitoring animal health, and maintaining clean, safe enclosures to ensure the well-being of every predator in our sanctuary.

Facility Management

Contribute to the structural integrity and ecological health of the Barbosa K&K facility. Volunteers assist with bush clearing, fence maintenance, and general infrastructure improvements that are critical for providing an ethical and secure environment for conservation.

Conservation Research

Support our data-driven approach to wildlife protection. Volunteers participate in behavioral observations and record-keeping for our ethical breeding program, helping us gather vital insights that influence cheetah conservation strategies worldwide.

Requirements & Costs

Health & Insurance

Volunteers must provide proof of comprehensive medical aid and insurance. A doctor's certificate confirming good health status and updated vaccinations is required to ensure safety in our conservation environment.

Costs & Dates

Schedule & Expectations

Volunteers work 6 days a week, starting early to beat the heat. We value teamwork, reliability, and a deep respect for wildlife. Expectations include active participation in all sanctuary tasks.

Costs & Inclusions

Volunteer Requirements

Applicants must provide proof of comprehensive medical aid/insurance and disclosure of relevant health information. A moderate level of fitness is required for daily savannah operations.
